Nueces River Field Readings – October 3, 2025
Today’s field readings show that upstream conditions on the Nueces River remain fresh and stable, while slightly brackish levels continue near Hazel Bazemore. Salinity and total dissolved solids (TDS) readings from the well cluster discharge indicate brackish water consistent with prior measurements, though the visible flow appears noticeably reduced today.
Field Measurements
Upstream (Near Bluntzer): 0.6 ppt salinity | 798 mg/L TDS | 77.2°F
Fresh, stable surface water above the well field.Well Cluster Discharge: 3.3 ppt salinity | 3,954 mg/L TDS | 80.7°F
Brackish discharge observed; visible flow reduced compared to prior days.Hazel Bazemore Boat Ramp: 0.9 ppt salinity | 1,192 mg/L TDS | 79.6°F
Slightly brackish, typical for this mixing zone near Calallen.

Operational Notes
The well cluster shows reduced flow.
Upstream water quality continues to trend steady.
Well 4 remains active; Well 1 continues undergoing maintenance.
Ongoing monitoring helps track daily fluctuations in salinity, TDS, and temperature to better understand surface-groundwater interactions in the lower Nueces basin.
Community Update
During today’s Corpus Christi City Council workshop, topics relating to regional water planning and groundwater management were discussed.
