Nueces River Field Readings – October 2, 2025
Today’s readings along the Nueces River continue to show a stable upstream baseline, moderate brackish conditions at the well cluster discharge, and slightly brackish water near the Hazel Bazemore Boat Ramp.
These measurements are part of NGCD’s ongoing field observations to track salinity and total dissolved solids (TDS) levels in surface water surrounding active and inactive well sites.
Field Measurements:
Upstream (Near Bluntzer): 0.6 ppt salinity | 815 mg/L TDS | 79.5°F — Fresh conditions remain stable above the well field.
Well Cluster Discharge: 3.4 ppt salinity | 4,034 mg/L TDS | 81.0°F — Brackish discharge, consistent with recent flow activity.
Hazel Bazemore Boat Ramp: 1.1 ppt salinity | 1,389 mg/L TDS | 80.5°F — Slightly brackish, typical for this location near Calallen.
Operational Notes:
Well 1 remains under active maintenance.
Well 4 has resumed operation.
The well cluster continues to show steady flow.
NGCD continues to collect these data to document real-time river salinity, temperature, and water quality trends. Consistent observation helps build a clearer understanding of seasonal and operational patterns across the lower Nueces River basin.
