Overview

Daily water quality monitoring continued along the lower Nueces River and nearby well field sites on October 1, 2025. Field readings were gathered using a YSI Pro30 Water Quality Meter to document total dissolved solids (TDS), salinity, and temperature at key monitoring locations.

The data indicate that river conditions remain consistent with late-season trends, showing a steady salinity gradient from upstream to downstream, with the well cluster discharge rate appearing slightly reduced compared to the previous day.

Well Field Status:

• Well 4: Still offline and not discharging.

• Well Cluster: Flow appeared reduced compared to September 30.

• Overall Activity: Continued monitoring ensures consistent observation of both surface and near-surface groundwater conditions.

Upstream Reading (86.5°F)

Freshwater conditions above the well field, measured at 0.6 ppt salinity and 787 mg/L TDS.

Well Cluster Discharge (80.5°F)

Brackish discharge observed at the cluster, with 3.1 ppt salinity and 3,714 mg/L TDS. Flow appeared lighter than in prior readings.

Hazel Bazemore Boat Ramp (79.3°F)

Slightly brackish conditions recorded downstream, with 1.0 ppt salinity and 1,284 mg/L TDS, typical for this reach of the Nueces River.

Interpretation

Water quality conditions remain stable, with freshwater readings upstream and brackish signatures near active wells. Total dissolved solids (TDS) and temperature values are consistent with previous measurements, supporting ongoing documentation of hydrologic stability through early October.
